Job Title: Domiciliary Care Assistant

Location: Richmond Village Witney, Coral Springs Way, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 5DG

Salary range: £12.45

Contract: Permanent contract part-time/full-time hours available.

Shift Pattern: 7am - 1pm or 1pm - 7pm (6hrs shift)

7am - 7pm (12 hr shift)

In your role as a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you will assist residents in maximizing their quality of life, and in exchange, we will help you advance in your career. We are currently seeking Assistants at various levels to offer a combination of domiciliary, residential, nursing, and dementia care as needed.


You can expect a comprehensive orientation at the beginning to help you adjust to your new position, as well as continuous training and development opportunities, which may include access to apprenticeship programs.

Domiciliary Care Assistant

You’ll help us make health happen by:

Although each day will differ in this position, we will adjust to the preferences of our residents throughout the community. You will probably be responsible for a range of tasks in both our apartments and care home on our premises, including:

  • Supporting individuals with tasks related to personal hygiene, grooming, and maintaining continence while residing in their homes within the community. By upholding top-notch care standards, you will advocate for the dignity and independence of all residents.


  • Assisting during meal times as needed; providing meals in their living quarters or in the care facility. This could include assisting them with walking, moving them in a wheelchair, or utilizing a hoist.


  • Assisting in enhancing the mental and physical engagement of inhabitants by encouraging participation in hobbies, interests, or activities within the community.

  • Responding to emergency notifications triggered by the care alert system.

  • Collaborating with the Domiciliary Care Manager and other external professionals like GPs, Chiropodists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists as needed.

  • Administrative responsibilities: ensuring precise record-keeping - consistently maintaining comprehensive documentation to display provided care, activities, and any health alterations.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Having previous experience in a care/dementia environment or holding a Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) would be beneficial. Nevertheless, full training will be given regardless of prior qualifications. Most importantly, you will have a strong passion for taking care of others, honoring their decisions, and prioritizing their safety and well-being. Confidently conversing with residents and their families, you possess excellent listening skills and a positive attitude, recognizing the importance of maintaining confidentiality in our work. Always prepared to set a good example and assist the rest of the team, you will provide care with respect and empathy while striving to bring joy to our residents daily.
