Role Overview: Warehouse Assistant

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse. You will assist the Warehouse Supervisor in managing the entire goods-in and goods-out procedure, ensuring all stock is handled safely and efficiently, and under company procedures, policies, and guidelines. Your role is essential in ensuring that the products we deliver to our stores meet the highest standards, enabling us to continue providing excellent service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Warehouse Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:

• Receiving and Checking Deliveries: You will be responsible for checking and verifying deliveries upon arrival. This involves ensuring that all goods are checked quickly and accurately and that any discrepancies, such as shortages or overs, are reported immediately.

• Stamp, date, and sign all delivery notes according to company policies.

• Complete all necessary paperwork neatly and promptly, ensuring it is handed over to the appropriate department.

• Handling Stock: Ensure all stock is handled with care, minimizing the risk of damage. You’ll be responsible for moving and organizing goods within the warehouse and ensuring that all items are accurately recorded and placed in the correct location.

• Monitor and maintain accurate stock locations to prevent any misplacement of items.

• Goods-Out Process: Assist in the preparation of orders and ensure that all goods being dispatched are packaged safely and correctly, ready for delivery to our stores or customers.

• Work efficiently to ensure that store requirements are met in a timely and responsive manner.

• Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date record of all inventory, ensuring that stock levels are monitored and accurately reflected in the system.

• Conduct periodic stock checks and ensure that all systems are updated regularly to reflect current inventory levels.

• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues, and any visitors to the warehouse. This includes adhering to the proper use of equipment and ensuring that the workspace remains clean and hazard-free.

• Ensure that company procedures are followed at all times, and report any concerns or risks to the Warehouse Supervisor.

• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across various departments to ensure the smooth running of operations. You will work closely with other team members to meet daily targets and ensure the efficient flow of goods through the warehouse.

• Customer-Focused Service: Ensure that all stock is delivered to stores or customers in perfect condition and that any issues are addressed swiftly and effectively. Your attention to detail will help maintain The Range’s reputation for quality and service.
