We are recruiting for a Clinical Lecturer (0.4fte) to join our staff team on our Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) programme. The post will involve teaching, supervision, and input into the ClinPsyD generally, but with a focus on developing our students' skills in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
The ClinPsyD runs a new clinic to support the development of stronger CBT training on the course, as well as enhancing mental health care within the university environment. The clinic delivers high-intensity CBT interventions to students and staff suffering from common mental health problems, including those at step 3 in IAPT services (anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder). Students on the ClinPsyD deliver therapies as part of their CBT skills training and development. The new Clinical Lecturer will be expected to provide weekly clinical supervision to the students, plus day-to-day management of the clinic, teaching on CBT, and supervision of ClinPsyD research projects as appropriate.
The applicants should have experience in delivering CBT. Seeking preferred professional accreditation as a CBT practitioner with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) but will also consider applications for candidates who meet the necessary criteria for BABCP accreditation and are in the process of completing this shortly. Applicants with accreditation as CBT supervisors by BABCP are also favored. But we'll also consider applications from applicants who have fulfilled the relevant criteria for BABCP accreditation as supervisors but have not yet done so.
The post-holder would be expected to prioritize working on days when the CBT clinic is open (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays). There is some flexibility about working hours but, as usual, the needs of the clinic would have to be taken into account.
