Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will primarily focus on delivering high-quality education across a variety of science subjects within the Health programme, including but not limited to:

  • Science Investigation Skills

  • Laboratory Techniques and their Application

  • Genetics and Genetic Engineering

  • Cell Metabolism

  • The Human Muscular and Skeletal Systems

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons that cater to students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of ability. Your teaching will be informed by current best practices and a strong understanding of the curriculum. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that our students not only meet but exceed their academic and professional goals.

Moreover, you will play an active role in student assessment, providing constructive feedback to support their academic progression. By employing innovative teaching methods and resources, including UCB’s state-of-the-art Health Hub, you will create an authentic, hands-on learning experience that prepares students for real-world challenges in the health and social care sectors.

About You:

We are looking for an individual who can bring their real-world experience and passion for health sciences into the classroom. As a Lecturer in Health Programmes, you should have experience in teaching Further Education (FE) or evidence of mentoring, training, or coaching in a professional context. Your industry experience in the health or science sectors will be a key asset in ensuring the relevance and practicality of the education we provide.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • You must possess a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area.

  • Previous experience of teaching in an FE setting or a proven record of mentoring or coaching in a professional environment.

  • A teaching qualification is desirable; however, if you do not currently hold one, UCB is committed to supporting your journey towards obtaining a recognised teaching qualification.

  • You must have experience working in health, science, or related industries, as your practical knowledge will be essential for delivering industry-relevant content.

  • You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to inspire and motivate students to achieve their potential.

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for contributing to the growth and success of our FE Health programmes.
