Background:
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia-it is a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime-by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves or both.
Dementia UK is the leading dementia nursing charity, here for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free expert advice, support, and understanding, helping families look after their loved ones. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible, for as long as possible.
Job Purpose/About the role
Dementia UK provides a fantastic opportunity to join the team in Insights and Evaluation in supporting the organisation in building the evidence base around Admiral Nursing by collecting and sharing evidence about the effectiveness of the Admiral Nursing model.
As the newly assigned insights and evaluation officer, you would oversee and maintain systems and folders owned by the team, ensuring systems are consistent, up-to-date, and remain organized. You will also be the main point of contact for team members' enquiries, manage the team email inbox, coordinate meetings, and projects, and provide essential administrative support.
In this role, you will be involved in coordinating the processes of data collection and assisting in the team's survey functions. In this capacity, you will support basic analysis of evaluation data and contribute to the production of reports and other key documents.
Experience will need to be gained in providing administrative support, for example in the area of shared folder and system management. Good organizational skills are a must, but so is prioritizing responsibilities as well as the need to be able to independently execute a wide variety of tasks. In addition, there should be sound IT skills and proficiency with common software packages such as MS Office, although experience with some use of Excel for basic data analysis would be advantageous.
If it's you, join us now and become a part of the team making a real difference to those who affected by dementia.
Our Culture
We offer not only a competitive salary and generous benefits package, but really care about our people, seeking to create a working environment that looks after our workforce so they can get the best out of themselves. You would be part of a highly diverse and committed team who are enabled to apply and develop your skills. We appreciate and recognize the contributions you will make to the delivery of our strategic plans for the benefit of those living with dementia.
Our people have a voice. Representatives from all roles and all levels of the business positively contribute and lead on our working groups around health and wellbeing, menopause, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Dementia UK is a proud organisation that welcomes everyone, but we seek a genuinely inclusive culture by talented, diverse teams representing various backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We celebrate and respect the differences in individuality and encourage everyone to join us and be their whole selves always.
