Lecturer in Business


We are seeking an exceptional Lecturer in Business to provide high-quality instruction across a range of business disciplines, including management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging course content, creating an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, and guiding students through complex business concepts. Additionally, you will contribute to curriculum development, engage in research activities, and participate actively in academic and professional communities. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of business leaders.

Our institution has achieved outstanding results in the 2024 National Student Survey (NSS), surpassing the sector average across all themes. We have also improved upon last year's exceptional performance in 7 out of 10 themes.

Please note that this position requires flexibility, including availability for evening and weekend work. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met through a variety of teaching methods and materials.

  • Develop, update, and enhance course materials to maintain relevance and academic rigor.

  • Lead and manage individual modules or units effectively.

  • Stay current with subject-specific developments and pedagogical innovations.

  • Contribute actively to student engagement and retention, working collaboratively as a team.

  • Participate in meetings to contribute to decision-making and build productive working relationships within academic teams.

  • Engage in continuous professional development and peer observations to improve teaching practice.




Requirements:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant business discipline (e.g., business, entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, finance, etc.). A PhD is preferred, but candidates with equivalent high-level professional experience in the discipline will be considered.

  • Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

    • Business and Entrepreneurship

    • Management/Leadership

    • Human Resource Management (HRM)

    • Strategy

    • Project Management

    • Marketing

    • Finance

  • Previous lecturing experience in higher education or a comparable academic environment.

  • Experience supervising student work, and providing constructive feedback and support.

Desirable:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications/accreditation (e.g., PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, FHEA).

  • Industry experience in relevant subject areas. Strong candidates with industry experience must demonstrate the ability to teach at the university level.
