Research Nurse

Join our passionate team of Clinical Research Nurses!

We seek a highly motivated nurse to contribute to our dynamic bone research and gastroenterology group within the Centre for Genomics and Experimental Medicine.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in advancing medical research by coordinating a variety of clinical trials, both local and national, ranging from straightforward to highly complex. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading specific research studies: You will be the primary point of contact for assigned studies, ensuring their smooth operation and adherence to protocols.

  • Providing exceptional patient care: You will deliver high-quality care and administer study-related treatments to patients in your assigned trials.

  • Supporting the broader research team: You will collaborate with the academic lead and research nurse manager, acting as an associate nurse for other trials within the unit.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A strong background in nursing with a relevant specialty is a plus.

  • Experience in clinical research is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Research Nurse

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • First-level registered nurse with 2 years post registration, with research experience, preferred, demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the post

  • Experience in Gastroenterology preferred but not essential

  • Educated to degree level or working towards

  • IT Microsoft Office skills, Word and Outlook, and the confidence to work with database systems

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Research experience including working knowledge of GCP Guidelines, EU Clinical Trials Directive and Research Governance Framework, Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts
