If so, The Bedford College Group is currently seeking an Associate Teacher for Sport and PE to join our dedicated team at the Bedford Sixth Form Campus. As part of this role, you will play an instrumental role in nurturing the next generation of sports enthusiasts and professionals.

About the Role

As an Associate Teacher in Sports and PE, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the success of our students by helping them develop their skills, talents, and knowledge to reach their full potential. This will be achieved through the delivery of high-quality lessons and contributing to the ongoing development of the curriculum, fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.

You will work closely with both students and staff to ensure an enriching student experience, playing a vital part in shaping the future of our Sixth Form’s PE and Sports program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, dynamic lessons that help students to excel in both practical and theoretical aspects of PE and Sport.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative approaches to the delivery of the PE curriculum.

  • Support students in developing their abilities, providing both academic and pastoral guidance to aid their success.

  • Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment, ensuring that all students are given equal opportunities to succeed.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PE and Sport curriculum, staying up-to-date with changes in the field and implementing best practices in your teaching.

  • Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve.

  • Participate in wider Sixth Form activities and events, contributing to the holistic development of students.

Qualifications and Skills Required

We are looking for motivated candidates who have:

  • Recognized Teaching Qualification: Applicants must hold a teaching qualification, showcasing their expertise in delivering high-quality education.

  • Degree in a Relevant Subject: A degree in a sports-related discipline or physical education is essential to provide in-depth knowledge of the subject matter.

  • Experience Teaching A-Level Students in a Sixth-Form Environment: Ideal candidates will have prior experience working in a Sixth Form, teaching A-Level students, and helping them succeed academically and personally.

What is an Associate?

Associates at The Bedford College Group work on a short-term, flexible basis, and are a key part of our educational community. As an Associate, you will be issued an Associate Agreement, typically running from January to December, which can be renewed annually based on performance and need.

Associates are responsible for delivering courses or providing support services to students while being supported by our core staff. This role allows for flexibility, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to work in education without a long-term, full-time commitment.
