Project Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our innovative research team to develop non-precious metal catalysts for sustainable synthesis applications. This project focuses on the use of organometallic synthesis, high-throughput experimentation, mass spectrometry, and continuous flow techniques to create and optimize robust catalysts for important pharmaceutical transformations. Although prior experience in these fields would be beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided.
The research will be conducted within the Sustainable and Digital Chemistry section and the Institute of Process Research and Development at the University of Leeds. As the project evolves, there is significant potential for further exploration and expansion based on the student’s progress and interests.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for candidates with a strong passion for catalysis and organic synthesis. Applicants should possess:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time-management capabilities.
A collaborative mindset, ready to work in a dynamic team environment.
Entry Requirements:
Applicants should have:
A first-class or upper second-class (2:1) British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, or organic chemistry.
