Job Title: Fraud Analyst


Location: Remote UK


Contract Terms: Full-time Permanent (Flexible Shift)


Summary:


The role of a Fraud Analyst presents both challenges and rewards, encompassing all necessary tasks related to fraud detection and loss prevention. This includes but is not limited to, reviewing customer transactions, assessing fraud claims initiated by customers and/or financial institutions, verifying addresses, utilizing internal and third-party tools, and analyzing information and reports to identify and mitigate potential credit card fraud and other issues that could adversely affect the business. Additionally, the position involves preventing chargeback losses through the management of chargeback processes.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Conduct order screenings with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Distinguish between legitimate and fraudulent transactions.

  • Engage with customers via telephone to confirm purchases, necessitating regular inbound and outbound communication.

  • Recognize and propose potential enhancements to fraud detection processes as required.

  •  Detect fraud patterns and relay findings to the team and management.

  •  Monitor voicemail, email, messages, and related communications for support inquiries.

  • Foster effective working relationships with both internal and external departments as needed.

  •  Review and manage chargeback responses to mitigate losses.

  • Update fraud detection tools with chargeback results to avert further losses.


Desired Skills and Qualities:


Requirements:


  • A minimum of several years of full-time professional experience is required, with at least one year in a customer service or call center position being preferred.

  • Experience in areas such as e-commerce, online payment systems, credit card processing, fraud detection, law enforcement, or online investigations is advantageous. Other relevant experience may also be taken into account.

  • Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication abilities, proficient typing skills, and a professional demeanor on the phone.

  • Attention to detail, along with robust analytical and organizational capabilities, is essential.

  • A proactive attitude and a natural curiosity are highly valued.

  • The ability to comprehend various systems and processes is necessary.

  • Candidates should be capable of thriving in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment, effectively managing stress while meeting deadlines.

  • Independence in work with minimal supervision is required.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and excellent attendance are mandatory.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a bachelor’s degree being a plus.

  • Availability for a 5-day workweek, including weekends and holidays, is necessary.

  • Please note that shifts may be adjusted based on business requirements.
