Position Overview

The Bedford College Group is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lecturer in Electrical Installation and T Levels to join our Construction and Building Services department at The Incuba Dunstable. This part-time position (0.5 FTE) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality education and support to our students in the field of electrical installation.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lecturer in Electrical Installation and T Levels to join our Construction and Building Services department at The Incuba Dunstable, part of the Bedford College Group. In this pivotal role, you will significantly impact our students' success by:

  • Course Delivery: Preparing, delivering, assessing, and verifying subject specialisms across various courses and levels.

  • Student Support: Guiding and supporting students to achieve their goals and realize their potential.

  • Learning Experience Management: Ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.

  • Curriculum Development: Contributing proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching practices within the Centre.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Trade Qualification: Level 3 qualification in electrical installation.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with CG 8202-30, 2391-52, 2365-02, 8710-30, and 18th Edition regulations; hold a JIB Gold card.

  • Educational Background: Minimum Level 3 in Education and Training, and GCSE in English and Mathematics at grade A-C or equivalent (or a willingness to achieve Level 2 in these subjects within one year).

  • Teaching Experience: Recent experience in teaching and assessing various programs and levels, or relevant recent industry experience within the UK.

  • Industry Awareness: Knowledge of current developments in UK Building Services.

  • Diversity and Inclusion: A passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds, with an understanding of how to promote equality and diversity in your role.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
