Role Overview:
As an Industrial Networks and Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing workflows, managing compute infrastructure, and supporting the long-term success of AMIC’s research centre and Northern Ireland’s manufacturing sector. You will work at the forefront of systems integration, automating processes between virtual and physical systems, and enhancing data flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrate virtual and physical systems with a focus on data management and automation.
Optimize workflows and manage infrastructure, driving improvements through technology.
Collaborate with teams on API-based integration, containerisation, and industrial IoT technologies (e.g., ERP, MES, SCADA, AI).
Implement and manage connectivity technologies such as ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular IoT communication systems.
Support the development and adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance regional manufacturing capabilities.
Ideal Candidate:
A degree in computing, engineering, science, or a related field. Candidates without a degree but with substantial relevant industrial experience will also be considered.
Recent, relevant experience in an industrial or R&D environment, with expertise in systems integration, data flow management, and workflow automation.
Strong knowledge in API integration, industrial IoT software systems, and communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC-UA).
Proven ability to manage infrastructure and implement technological improvements.
Expertise in connectivity technologies such as ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular IoT communication systems.
